Gene Sergeant was born in Caruthersville, MO on December 25. 1929 as son of the late Helen Faye Bennett and husband, Samuel Sergeant. He was married to the late Lillie Sergeant nee Foster, who passed away in 2001.
Gene is survived by his wife, Marlene; daughter, Ina and husband, Ralf, with Darius and Niclas and Ben and wife, Martina, with Matty and Lenny in Germany; and a son, Donald Ray Sergeant and wife, Joyce and great-grandkids.
His most important stations in life were: 1948 he enlisted in Fort Knox. He retired in 1971. 1954 bis 1959 Germany with Turner Tankers 40th. Armor Berlin, 1961 bis 1962 Korea, 1965 -1967 Korea, 1967-1967 Vietnam. He was the owner of Carmo Autoparts.
His visitation will be on Wednesday after 10 a.m. at the W.G. Hardy Funeral Home, with his funeral service at 12:30 p.m., with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central.
