

Gerald enjoyed working on cars, playing pool and was always ready for a game of Texas Hold ’Em and poker. Above all, Gerald found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter and energy filled his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Willie Cook; his daughters, Glenda and Ann; and several of his brothers and sisters.
Gerald leaves behind his loving wife, Rita of 43 and a half years, who stood faithfully by his side through life’s many seasons. He is also survived by his children: Vivian, Darrell, Chuck, and Peggy (David); grandchildren: Christina, Justin, Anastasia, Valerie, Christopher, Chaz, Cayla, Chelsea, and Caitlyn; and great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Cameron, Emma, Isabella, William, Lavea, Ryker, Dacari, Elena, Zuri, Cayson, Jensen, Ayden, Creed, and Cannon.
He is also survived by his brothers Jimmy (Helen), Paul, and Roger (Brenda); many nieces, nephews, friends; and his loyal dog, Lilah, who never left his side.
Gerald leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
A visitation for Gerald will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.
A funeral service will take place the following day, Friday, May 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location. Visitation will also be available prior to the service followed by a burial at Garnettsville Cemetery located in Brandenburg, Kentucky.
