He was a retired truck driver for Philip Morris, an active member of South Jefferson Baptist Church, a member of Teamsters Local 89, and a Navy veteran of WWII. Hugh was a UK fan, and enjoyed golf and fishing.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dolores Blair Poole; a daughter, Linda Ball (Bob); brothers, Robert “Pod” Poole and Don Poole; a grandson, Ryan Ball (Samantha); and great-grandchildren, Kessler and Bradley Ball.
His funeral service will be held at 12:00 Tuesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Monday.
