Jacquelyn Marie Frey

Jacquelyn "Jackye" Marie Frey, age 65, of Brooks, Kentucky entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was a devoted wife, a proud mother and stepmother, and a friend to everyone lucky enough to know her. Jackye had a warmth about her that drew people in, she had a way about her that made you feel like you mattered.

Jackye enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on Sundays with her parents. She found peace in swimming, joy in riding motorcycles, and comfort in the company of her beloved fur babies. Her faith was an important part of her life; she was a spiritual woman who attended Journey Christian Church and, before that, South Jefferson Baptist Church.

One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming a registered nurse, a calling she answered with compassion and dedication. She spent 30 years in the field, specializing in wound care and touching countless lives through her work.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Robert Streble. Left to carry on her memory are her husband, Gary Frey; her son, Alexander “Alex” Helton; her stepdaughter, Autumn Roberts (Adam); her parents, Kenneth and Wessie Streble; her grandchildren, Austin Roberts, Adison Roberts, Chase Robinson, Jayden Robinson, and Kelsey Mills; her brothers, Kenneth Wayne Streble (Bonnie) and Michael David Streble (Debbie); her aunts, Evelyn and Rose; and her lifelong best friend and sister at heart, Rhonda Hawks and several extended family members.

In honor of Jackye’s life and the faith that guided her, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her memory to Journey Christian Church.

A visitation for Jackye will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.

Her funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Jackye will be laid to rest at Bethany Memorial Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272.
