At Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
A native of Grayson County, she worked as a nurse in labor and delivery for 28 years at University Hospital, she volunteered as an assistant for 4-H summer camp, and was a Catholic by faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Scott Spond, and a brother, Homer Powell (Virginia).
Survivors include her daughter, Samantha Spond; a brother, Harlen Powell (Tish); a sister, Jane Johnston (Ernie); mother-in-law, Joyce Spond; and sisters-in-law Kim Rasche and Karen Huff.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm EST Friday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm EST Thursday.
