Reba L. Doutrick, 89, a giving angel to her family and friends, an advocate for making things happen in the Louisville community, and a woman that was a true example of leadership, entered into rest peacefully on Friday, April 16, 2021. Born on Oakwood Street, July 18, 1931 to Lester Donoho and Lennie McDonald, she lived her entire life in Louisville and was committed to making it better. She was an active leader for many causes throughout her life including Riverside: The Farnsley-Moremen Landing, Kosair Charities, Louisville Redevelopment Authority, the Landmarks Commission, Project One, MSD, Louisville Arena Authority, Harbor House, Louisville Metro Police Foundation, Mint Jubilee / Julep Ball, Louisville Red Cross, Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Southwest Hospital. Her presence, in our community and in the lives of many, will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Ernest and Wilbur Donoho; and her daughter, DeLen Doutrick. Reba is survived by her son, Dennis C. Doutrick; Grandchildren, Chuck Doutrick (Stef), Jeffrey Doutrick (Heather), Crystal Goodyear, Allana Hefley and James Hefley; nine Great Grandchildren; along with her extended family and lifelong friends who loved her dearly.
Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel is in charge of final arrangements.
Reba’s wish, due to her devotion to southwest Jefferson County, was to have a Memorial Gathering to be held at Riverside: The Farnsley-Moremen Landing which is currently planned for July 18, 2021. In lieu of flowers, she would have preferred a donation to Riverside (www.riverside-landing.org). If you would like to be involved in the Memorial, by writing a message or even something more involved, please leave a message at [email protected]
