She was with family, surrendered to Jesus Peacefully, without pain nor suffering.
Sara was a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a hairstylist, a grocery clerk, and LPN and then an RN, and much more. She worked at Hazelwood Hospital for about 15 years, she really loved her work and her patients. A few years after she retired she went back to work at an adult day care to oversee their health needs whilst there. She enjoyed this work too, frequently talked about her patients as friends, and as before, became friends with a few of the families as well.
After she retired again, she began delivering meals on wheels to elderly folk, kept this up for a few years, then reluctantly gave this up to finally retire all together. She enjoyed helping people, she had a giving heart.
She was a bit of a gardener, she always planted pretty flowers and shrubs, knew her plants well and I would say she “had a green thumb”. She liked her yard to be clean, orderly and pretty.
As a Mother, she was always there for her children, always. She might just lend an ear to listen, offer a hug for comfort or give sound advice when asked. All that knew her loved her smile and kind attitude. I would say she was a nice Southern Lady, charming and gracious to all she met.
As a grandmother she attended all of the sporting and scouting events, always supportive in their activities. She went with them on vacation, day trips or camping trips, she was always up for adventure. They tell me she was a good gift giver too !
She will never be forgotten, always cherished and loved. I know she is in a better place, no worries, no pain, no strife, loving Jesus, anxiously awaiting our arrival to be with her in Heaven !
Till that day, we will do our very best here, we will tell the good stories of her, laugh and cry as we ponder on years past. We loved you so very much, Goodbye for now.
Sara is survived by her Sons, Darrell and Damon Collins; Grandchildren, Alexander and Benjamin Collins. Brothers, Joseph Brown and David Brown. Sister, Carol Sue Wesley.
Her services were private, arrangements handled by Advantage Funeral Home-Hardy Chapel.
Final resting place at Louisville Memorial Gardens.
