Thomas Edward Burton, 91, entered into rest on Thursday September 21, 2023. Tom was a lifetime member of VFW 1693 and American Legion 193. He served his country proudly as a US Army Corporal in the Korean War. Tom retired from Louisville’s GE Plant, he was a Lifetime member of Union 761. He was born in Chicago, Ill to Howard and Ester Burton on February 16, 1932. Tom was father to Nancy Smith (James) and Cheryl Blevins (Paul). He was a grandfather to Melissa Newton, Robert Brown (Tracy) and Marshell Tompkins (Larry). Great Grandfather to Devyn and Larrisa Tompkins, Garrett Brown (Megan) and Savannah McCall (Timothy). Great Great Grandfather to Gage McCall. He is also survived by one brother, Howard Burton, Jr.; He is preceded in death by his Wife, Lola Mae Burton and Son, Donald Chastain, Granddaughter, Peggy Graham, Parents, Howard and Ester Burton. His Siblings, William, Robert, and Lula. His Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Hwy, with Burial following in Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Ky. His visitation will be held on Tuesday September 26, 2023 from 3-8pm at the funeral home.
