

Tom Johnson, 74, entered eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Being the second child to a large Germantown Catholic family he is preceded in death by so many family members and friends. Left here on earth to remember him and share his story are his children. Daughter, Wendy and son T.J.(Becky), his former wife Yvonne Johnson (Long), his grandchildren; Tyler (Celeste), Alyssa (Daniel), Montanna and Brooklyn Johnson, his great-grandchildren, David Lee (7), Maverick (4), Leeland (4), Blakely (2), Wyatt (1) and Violet ( 8 months). Tom is also survived by siblings; brothers John (Judy), Joe and Steve Johnson; sisters, Linda Besse (Louie); Judy Olliges (Ed, deceased) and Nancy Johnson. Being in such a large family he also has a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.
Tom is a graduate of Flaget High School and in 1971 he married Yvonne Long. They were married for 29 years and shared two children and a lifetime of memories. After Tom retired from the Commonwealth Convention center, he packed up and moved to Florida where he enjoyed the sun and sand with a whole new host of friends in his community. He decided to return home to Louisville in 2020 with the birth of his first great grandson. He was a baseball fanatic and a true Atlanta Braves fan. He and his son attended many a Braves game together.
The family has chosen cremation and the services are private. Advantage funeral home, 10907 Dixie Highway will oversee the arrangements.
