Warren E. Riddle, 93 , born June 30, 1922, returned to his Heavenly Father on January 22, 2016. Native of Asheville, N.C., marine veteran of WWII, served in Marines from 28 July 41 to 15 Oct 45, Participated in action against the enemy at historic battle of Guadalcanal, Solomon Island, served in US Army from 21 April 48 to 31 May 64 and retired from Army as a Sargent First Class, retired from Naval Ordnance as a journey man, life member of VFW Post 1181, member national association of retired federal employees Valley Chapter #1445, member of Valley Station Baptist Church and a member of Kentucky Humane Society. Preceded in death by his parents:Jeter Riddle (Lucille), Dorothy Gillespie Riddle, Sister Edith Rhodes. Survived by his wife Edran Riddle, sons, Fred Riddle (Janis), Terry Riddle, Conley Riddle (Barbara) and Michael Riddle (Rhonda), sisters, Opal Cooper of N.C., Polly Lee of Fl., and a brother Jerry Riddle of N.C., 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 newbirth in July 2016. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.G. Hardy Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Entombment in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation 10 a.m. till time of service Wednesday. Memorial contribution may be made to the Wounded Warrior.
