

Zelma Mae Farris, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Born in Neafus KY and raised in Louisville, Zelma was a devoted homemaker, known for her love of sewing, quilting, and gardening. She found joy in tending to her flowers each spring, and nothing brought her more happiness than watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She volunteered weekly for the past 5 years at the local food pantry with her daughter Becky.
Zelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband Marvin, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage, her son Tony, grandsons Christopher, William and stepson Marvin Jr. "Lennie."
She is survived by her loving daughter Becky Cotton (Richard), Candy Carrington (Cecil), and twelve grandchildren: Penny (Jacob), Jenny (James), Danny, Kristina, Brianna, Anthony, Jason (Kassie), Rich, Jacob, Melody, Sean, and Jessica, as well as ten great-grandchildren: Lane, Aiden, James, Jessica, Jaylen, Saige, Weston, Wyatt, Nolan and Preslie. Zelma is also survived by her siblings: Buster, Cecil and Rodger Geary, and sister Dorothy Harshfield.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. a t Advantage Funeral Home, Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Hwy, and again on Tuesday, January 28, from 11a.m. until the time of the service. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
Zelma's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have shown love and support during this time. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
