

Services for Ada LaVerne Davis, 89, of Huntington, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Huntington’s First Baptist Church, with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born October 1, 1925 in Texico, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Ada Violet (Hamaker) and Alfred Martin Singletery. She passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Davis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a retired LVN. She and Mr. Davis served in he Southern Baptist Conference throughout Texas, New Mexico, and California, where she was the pianist. She was a member of Huntington’s First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and John Armstrong of Augusta, Kansas; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Jeanne (Sapunor) Davis of California; daughter-in-law, Audrey Davis of Huntington; grandchildren, Shawn Davis and wife Ranae, Jeff Davis and wife Melissa, Will Davis and wife Traci, Kael Nerren, Caitlin Sapunor-Davis, Hannah Sapunor-Davis, John Armstrong, Jr. and wife Olivia, Joe Armstrong, Jacquie Armstrong, and Daniel Armstrong; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Davis; son, Henry Davis; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Pallbearers will be John Armstrong, Jr., Joe Armstrong, Daniel Armstrong, Jeff Davis, Will Davis, Seth Davis, and Jalen Nerren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Hannah and Delbert Ellison.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
