

Services for Faye Wright, 93, of The Woodlands, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cindy Doran officiating. Interment will follow in Ryan Chapel Cemetery in Diboll, Texas.
Mrs. Wright was born January 26, 1920 in Leggett, Texas, the daughter of the late Effie and David Shine. She passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 in The Woodlands.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Family was every- thing to her. She was a very outgoing person, loyal and family oriented. She was often doing volunteer work to help others. She sang in her church choir and taught Sunday School at the Cedar Grove Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. At retirement, she and her husband moved to Port Isabel, Texas and she was actively involved in the Port Isabel Museum. She was also involved with a retirement group that did a lot of volunteer work.
She is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Smith of The Woodlands; daughter, Susie Bradford and husband Bill of Plano; grandchildren, Chris Smith of The Woodlands, Kim Self and husband Jason of Austin, Wade Burnett and wife Amy of Nashville, Tennessee and “Crickett” Jeter and husband Atwood of Dallas; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents, Arthur and Mabel Porter; husband, Frederick Eugene Wright; brother, Lester Shine; and sister, Emma Lou Shine Porter.
Serving as pallbearers are John L. Smith, Chris Smith, Roy Myers, Ike Estes, Jay Bowers and Matt Moore.
