Funeral service for Alfredo Huerta Jr., 23, of Lufkin, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Gipson Funeral Home with Bro. Ricardo Hernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Alfredo was born April 25, 1999 in Shreveport, Louisiana, son to Irma (Vasquez) and Alfredo Huerta Sr. He passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023.
Alfredo was a very loving and caring person; he loved to joke around and prank people. He loved to travel, he was always going everywhere and spending time with his "Pitufo" parents, Edgar and Yaneth, as he would call them. He enjoyed many sports, he played baseball for Lufkin High School, soccer, and football. He had received an Associate’s degree in Criminology and was currently attending S.F.A. Alfredo loved to dance and was always the life of the party. He loved guns and was very caring towards animals. He loved horses and he always wanted to rescue every animal he came in contact with. His number one priority was washing and keeping his truck clean.
Survivors include mother, Irma Vasquez of Lufkin; dad, Zenon Muñoz of Lufkin; siblings, Jocellyn Huerta and husband, Emilio Lopez of Lufkin, Isaac Huerta and girlfriend, Tania Ibarra of Lufkin, Jaslyn Muñoz of Lufkin, and Jayden Muñoz of Lufkin; grandmother, Irma Moyeda of Lufkin; nephew, Emilio Lopez Jr. of Diboll; nieces Amilia Lopez of Diboll and Isabella Huerta of Nacogdoches; aunts Yaneth Barrera and husband, Edgar Barrera of Lufkin, Norma Limon of Lufkin, Dora Escobedo of Lufkin, Martha Lopez of Lufkin, Maria Huerta of Lufkin; grandfather, Florencio Huerta of Lufkin; and numerous family and friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Alfredo Huerta Sr.; grandfather, Francisco Vasquez; grandmother, Josefina Huerta; great-grandmother, Lorenza Moyeda; great-grandfather, Carlos Moyeda; and uncle, Francisco Moyeda.
Pallbearers will be Edgar Barrera, Emilio Lopez, Zenon Muñoz, Francisco Moyeda, Salvador Ramirez, and Isaac Huerta.
Honorary pallbearer will be Irma Moyeda.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
