

Services for A. L. Kilgore, Sr, 92, of Diboll, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Elder Billy Dool officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett/Livingston.
Mr. Kilgore was born June 11, 1932 in DePort, Texas, the son of the late Ethel Oretha (Norris) and William Algie Madison Kilgore. He passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Kilgore was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a man of many hats – preacher, voluntary firefighter in Diboll and coach. He was a preacher and an extraordinary man of faith. He enjoyed talking about the days of being in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He also had an amazing ability to remember dates.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lee Kilgore of Diboll; daughter, Norma Sanford and husband Raymond of Diboll; sons, Algie Lee Kilgore, Jr. and wife Marieda of Montgomery, Roger Kilgore and wife April of Diboll and Leslie Kilgore and wife Amy of Corrigan; son-in-law, Fox Adams; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mona Adams; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jacob Sanford, Jaydon Sanford, Nathan Sanford, Christopher Kilgore, Jackson Kilgore, Cooper Kilgore and Tyler Sanford.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Thursday afternoon at Gipson Funeral Home.
