Billy Ray Olson

Mr. Olson was a retired tugboat captain. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Mr. Olson was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Loree (Sanford) Olson of Corrigan; daughter and son-in-law Darlene and Justin Morgan of Morgantown, Mississippi; son, Ronnie Yeaman of Aransas Pass; granddaughters, Lynn Morgan and Theresa Schaecher and husband David, all of Morgantown, Mississippi; great-granddaughter, Michelle Schaecher of Morgantown, Mississippi; brother, Curtis Olson of Aransas Pass; sister, Arlie Mae Shepherd of Aransas Pass; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Olson was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy "Skin" Olson.

Pallbearers will be Greag Modisette, Mack Modisette, Bryan Modisette, Tommy Sanders, Kevin Havard and Aaron Clark.

Services for Mr. Olson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Robert Lankford officiating. Interment will follow in the Wheeler Cemetery in Wakefield.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
