Graveside services for Billy Tom Vann, 76, of Pollok, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas, with Bro. Keith Bickley officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Vann was born May 11, 1945 in Alto, Texas, the son of the late Mattie Mae (Kellum) and Thomas Edward Vann. He passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at a nursing home in Wells, Texas.
Mr. Vann worked as a carpenter at Jack Dixon Construction, then he retired from Lufkin Industries after 22 years. Mr. Vann proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He loved pitching washers, gardening, as well as building arts and crafts. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Patricia Vann of Lufkin, Tracey and Robin Vann of Pollok, Stacey and Christi Vann of Pollok; stepson and wife, Chris and Beth Due of Pollok. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Whitney Vann, Morgan Looney, Jentry Cowdin, Seth, Taylor and Tara Due, Kenzie Bridges, Harliey Womack, and Tanner Glover; great grandchildren, Jase Guerrero, Lynden Wilson, Avery Looney, Sunny Due; brother Jimmy Ted Vann of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Lisa Vann of Pollok.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Vann is preceded in death by his siblings, Sandra Tatum, Kenneth and Larry Vann; wife and mother of his children, Naomi (Acosta) Vann, and wife, Patsy (Landers) Vann.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Fitts, Dennis Oates, Craig Payne, Lance Vann, Jason Niosi, and Mike Martin.
The family wishes to extend “Special Thanks” to the staffs of Larkspur Rehabilitation Center, Wells Nursing Home, and Hospice in the Pines for the care given to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Vann's memory may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75901.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
