Mr. Woodward was born on July 31, 1932 in Manning, Texas, to parents Frank and Gladys (Windsor) Woodward and moved to Port Arthur at an early age. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1951, In 1954, he married Viola Sue Harvey and moved to Lufkin. Billy graduated from Lamar University in 1956 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked for Lufkin Industries for 25 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, and a retired member of Texas Board of Professional Engineers. He was self-employed with Woodward Industries. Billy enjoyed golf, reading, fishing, and spending time with family. He passed away on November 25, 2018 at his residence in Lufkin.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Woodward; brother, Jerry Woodward and Carolyn; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Sam McCoy of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Annette Woodward; grandchildren, Matt and Kristyl Woodward of Lufkin, Samantha McCoy of Lufkin, Tressie McCoy of Oklahoma City, Katherine and J.J. O’Connor of Frisco, and Josef Woodward of Ennis; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Taylor, and Mason Woodward, and Hayes O’Conner; beloved pets, Tinkerbelle and Bo; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodward is preceded in death by his son, Howard Woodward; grandson, John Michael Woodward; and great-grandson, Lucas O’Connor.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
