Bobby Eugene Conner

Mr. Conner was previously a buyer for Lufkin Industries, was the manager for Colonial Self Storage and owner of Rainbow Rentals. He was a hard worker and never gave up. He was a member of Herty Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Lufkin Evening Lions Club and an Alumni member of Sigma Chi. Mr. Conner served as Captain in the United States Army followed by service in the National Guard.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Dan Hinson of Houston; son, Donald Craig Conner of Lufkin; grandchildren, Mitchell Dewayne Conner of Lufkin, Amy Christine Conner of Nacogdoches, Eric Micah Fulton and Aaron Lee Fulton, both of Lufkin; brother, Gerald Conner of Huntington; and nieces, Alicia Cashell and Stacie Conner, both of Tyler.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jody Dean Conner.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Reavis, Jerry Miller, Eric Fulton, Rocky Madnen, Andy Bennefield and James Koonce.

Memorials may be given to the Lufkin High School Alumni Association, Box 150837, Lufkin, TX 75915, in honor of the Class of 52.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Horace Fletcher officiating and Don Wier bringing the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
