Bobby Lee Jones

Bobby Lee Jones was born March 7, 1946 in Lufkin, Texas, to Willie Winfred Jones and Sybil Catherine (Boon) Jones.

He was drafted into the United States Army in 1966, and stationed in Dexheim, Germany, where his first child was born. He served six years active and reserve, making the rank of Sgt. before separating from the Army in 1972. His Military Decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, The Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Expert Marksman (Rifle) Medal. He lived in Lufkin and Huntington since 1969. He worked for Brookshire Brothers for 25 years. In 1987 he started his own business, Bobby L. Jones Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He ran his own business for 30 years before selling it in 2013. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a member of Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church in Lufkin, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Maurice Jones in 1969; his brother, Lemuel Matt “Lynn” Jones in 1978; his father, Winfred in 1981; and his mother, Sybil in 1999.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Margie Ann Pixley Jones; son, Charles D. Jones and wife, BJ; daughter, Dianna M. Sowell and husband Randy; daughter, Robbie E. Kessler; sister, Sally Mosley; grandchildren, Zackary Lynn‐Jones Kessler and Zane Alexander Sowell; and great grandchildren, Abel Anthony Kessler and Connor Lee Kessler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Bobby will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Homer Cemetery with full Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be Zackary Kessler, David Mosley, Jody Windham, Leland Cannon, Randy Sowell, and Brian Ross.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church, 2969 FM 1475, Lufkin, Texas, 75901.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
