Caroline Joyce Burrous

Funeral services for Caroline Joyce Flowers-Burrous, 74, of Diboll, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brandon Brashear officiating. Interment will follow at the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Caroline was born May 30, 1948, in Doucette, Texas, daughter of the late Edna Earl Freeman and Thomas Lester Flowers. She passed away on November 5, 2022 in The Hospice in the Pines.

Mrs. Burrous worked as a florist in the Lufkin area for many years. In 2010, she owned and operated her own flower shop in Diboll, TX. During her career as a florist, she trained many florist in the Lufkin area. Caroline was a member of Mt. Carmel Church in Hudson, TX. She was very involved with the church and worked in church nurseries. On her time off, Caroline enjoyed listening to music, making jewelry, reading books, and making any arts and crafts. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.

Survivors include her sons David and daughter-in-law, Kim Burrous of Silsbee, TX, Jason Burrous and daughter-in-law, Tracie Brown of Lufkin, TX; daughters, Sherri Burrous of Diboll and Terisa Burrous of Diboll; sisters Doris Flowers Hammack of Hudson, Sue and Cal Lowry of Diboll; brothers, Joe and Connie Flowers of Hudson, and Jimmy and Mae Flowers of Point Blank, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Courville, DG Burrous, Kayla Burrous-Eaves, Hayley Burrous, Christopher Foster, Sara Foster Warner, Hunter Burrous, Haven Burrous, Heston Burrous, Justin Wilson, Leona Wilson, Kevin Williams, Naomi Burrous, Savanha Carrol Burrous Maddox, and Cody Johnson; great-grandchildren, Lily Courville, Holden Burrous, Caroline Eaves, Conrad Eaves, John Preston Fann, Eli Maverick Warner, Wylie Carrol Modisette, Chauncey Allen, Leah Marie Allen, Preston Scott Robertson, Remington Lane Johnson, Mason Edward Wayne Neal, Jordan Pearson, Candace Pearson Villarino, Morgan Pearson Glynn, Rihanna Marshall, Carson Marshall, Kynlie Bryan, Justus Marshall, and Paige Marshall; great-great-grandchildren, Levi Anthony Rockwell, Ryder Christopher Glynn, Dawson Marshall; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert Glynn Burrous; daughter, Joanna Marie Burrous; granddaughter, Victoria Michelle Foster; and brother-in-law, James “Potsy” Hammack.

Pallbearers will be DG Burrous, Heston Burrous, Justin Wilson, Ricky Morris, and Cody Warner.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home chapel.
