Mr. Jeter, 85, was born August 1, 1931 in Miller County, Arkansas. He passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at an Assisted Living Center.
He was married to Julianne Jeter for 57 years and was a longtime member of Lufkin’s First United Methodist Church. He graduated high school in Arkansas, Class of 1949. He worked for Texas Forest Service as a Radio Technician. He was involved with the Emergency Preparedness Committee through his church and was a member of Senior Kiwanis Club. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, reading, and woodworking. He could build anything.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Beva Masters and Ric of Lufkin; daughter, Lisa Jeter of Hickory Creek; and sister, Vesta Dossey of Ashdown, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera Lewis and Charles H. Jeter; and his wife, Julianne Jeter.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Gipson Funeral Home.
