Charles A. Robinson

Services for Charles A. Robinson, 87, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Pat Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Robinson was born October 22, 1930 in Farrsville, TX, the son of the late Leona (Ervin) and Eleck Robinson, and passed away December 22, 2017 in Lufkin.

Mr. Robinson was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed playing blue grass music and gardening. Mr. Robinson preached God’s word at many Church of Christ locations in his life while he was also a truck driver for Red Ball Motor Freight and Consolidated Freightway.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Rachel Yvonne (Chisum) Robinson; son and daughter-in-law, Charles David Robinson and Bonnie; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Harkness and Gary; granddaughter, Jennifer Robinson; grandson and wife, Forrest Robinson and Elizabeth; grandson, Bradley Harkness; grandson and wife, Brice Harkness and Anna; grandson, Bryan Harkness; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Robinson; great-grandsons, Brooks Robinson, Rhett Robinson and Reid Robinson; and many friends and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be David Gordon, Carol White, Bradley Harkness, Brice Harkness, Bryan Harkness and Forrest Robinson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rhett Robinson, Reid Robinson, Brooks Robinson and Evelyn Robinson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
