Dennis "J. D." Van Henson

He has been a logger and mechanic since he was 16 years old. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the riverhouse.

Survivors are his wife of 32 years, Reba Henson; daughter, Haley Henson of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Nicki and Audie Guthery of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Bubba and Amber Henson of Lufkin; son, Wade Henson of Lufkin; grandchildren, Stephanie Parnell, Michael Parnell, Kara Henson, Justin Henson, Tahlyr Henson, Aaron Henson, Gauge Henson; mother, Ambra McCarty; and one sister, Millie Mullins of Henderson.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, J. W. and Neulean Henson.

Pallbearers will be Clark Pearson, Jesse Bates, Malcom Arnold, Jason Carrell, Keith Carrell, Stacy Hightower and Kenneth Nerren.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Henson,Kent Henson, Mike Henson and Dale Nash.

Services for Mr. Henson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Calvin Kersh officiating.

Interment will follow in Fielders Cemetery

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
