

Master Sgt. E. L. Hudson, 82, of Lufkin, was born October 26, 1927 in Handley, Texas, the son of the late Edna (Freeman) and Thomas Elmer Hudson. He passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Hudson was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a retired Master Sergeant, serving his country with the United States Army for 24 years. He served during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and cooking for his family.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Catherine Hudson of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Ronald Chumley of Lufkin; daughter, Sharon Carrington of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, James Ray and Gayla Hudson of Palestine; grandchildren, Analisha Avila, Christi and Kevin Burdette, Stephen Chumley, Angela Chumley, Alison Chumley, Cinda Hudson, Jared and Ashley Hudson and Jennifer and Clayton Mann; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 expected great-great grandchild; and a number of other family members.
Services for Mr. Hudson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with full military honors provided by the United States Army.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
