

Services for Sue Simms Nerren, 78, of Lufkin, were held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Nerren was born August 12, 1934 in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Mollie (Gillikin) and Perry Edward Simms. She passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Nerren was very active in high school. She was a cheerleader, lettered in volleyball and graduated from Central High School in Pollok at the age of 15 as salutatorion of her class. She then attended Pineywoods Business College. She was employed as a secretary in the Wood Procurement Department for Southland Paper Mill for 30 years. Mrs. Nerren loved her family, was a great housekeeper, homemaker, and rancher, raising Longhorns. She was of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Coy and Marilyn Simms of Nacogdoches, Kenneth and Ethel Simms of Lufkin and Terry and Joy Simms of Nacogdoches; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Bob Goodwin of Jacksonville; brother-in-law, Bob Kelly of Lufkin; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sharon Turney, Sue Berry, and Kristal Reagan, all of Lufkin.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nerren was preceded in death by her husband, William Glenn Nerren; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Margie Simms; and sister, Virginia Kelly.
Pallbearers were Coy James Simms, Kenneth Simms, Jr., Patrick Kelly, Elwin Lamon, Kelvin Lamon, David Richard, Sheldon Mansfield, T. A. Bazor and Kenny Bridges.
