

Evelyn Collins, 88, of Lufkin, was born January 19, 1924 in Timpson, Texas, the daughter of the late Annie Mae (Bray) and Bradley A. McFaddin. She passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Collins was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and made the best Italian Cream Cake EVER! She loved working in her yard with plants and flowers, and loved her dog, Gracie. Mrs. Collins was a charter member of Herty Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Robert McBride; son and daughter-in-law, DeWayne and Kathy Collins; grandchildren, Kevin and Dana McBride, Kelly and Shane Self, Chris Collins and Trent Collins; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Trevor, Cade, and Austin; and a number of other family members and friends.
Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, H. P. Collins; great grandson, Chandler McBride; great-granddaughter, Camryn Collins; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Chris Collins, Trent Collins, Shane Self, Trevor Self, Kevin McBride, and Mike Parker.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Collins' memory may be made to Chandlers-treefarm.org, a charity in memory of Mrs. Collins' great-grandson, Chandler McBride, 13330 Raintree Drive, Montgomery, Texas 77356.
Services for Mrs. Collins will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2012 in the Sunset Mausoleum Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Pastor Kim Bartel officiating, with entombment following in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Gipson Funeral Home.
