Mr. Sterling was born November 30, 1940, son of the late Nancy Elizabeth Donovan and Lester Malon Sterling. He passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 in a local hospital.
Floyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather. In his free time he loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially was family campouts and trips to New Mexico. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force. He was proud of his Native American Heritage. Floyd was a wood and metal craftsman and loved crafting for family friends. He also enjoyed getting his morning coffee at Sue’s, where he loved sharing fishing stories and bragging on grandkids.
Survivors include daughters, Sarah Rash and Brad of Bryan, TX, Rena Templeton of Lufkin, TX; grandchildren, Levi Sterling, Brianna William, Brett Rash; brothers, Danny Sterling and Annie of Comfort, TX, Richard Sterling of Kennard, TX; sisters, Juanita Harvey of Jasper, TX, Eunice Coulter of Pollok, TX, Janie Burch and David of Lufkin, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Rusty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Robbie Sterling; daughters, Tracy and Paige Sterling; and brother, Lester Sterling.
Pallbearers will be William Rash, Booger Coulter, Keven Sterling, Dusty Sterling, Levi Sterling, and Christopher Coulter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Rash and Jaxon Black.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
