Floyd Eugene Wright

Services for Floyd Eugene Wright, 67, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Charles Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.

Mr. Wright was born February 24, 1946 in Honey Island, Texas, the son of the late Florence Elizabeth (Haynes) and Hollie Stephenson Wright I. He passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Wright’s family was very important to him. He was a beloved usband and devoted father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and adored his best friend - Sabre (his dog). He was a very honest man and very straight forward – he told you how it was. He would help anyone but he expected total honesty. He enjoyed country music and took very good care of his truck. He was the owner/operator of T & T Auto Sales.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Wright of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Deena and Don Wadsworth of Corsicana; son, Doyle Wright of Lufkin; daughter, Alichia Wright of Lufkin; special family member, Brent Twemlow; brothers and sisters, Pat Bennett and husband Carl, Sue Burden and husband Will, Steve Wright II, Ginger Mayberry, Billy Wright and wife Katrina, John Paul Wright and wife Melinda, Carl Wright and wife Kelly, and Robin Wright; grandchildren, Kimberly, Stephanie, Donald Floyd, Jr., Cheri, Allie, Travis, J. J., Samantha, Jason and Dylan; 6 great-grandchildren; and a number of other family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy, Frank, and Mike.

Pallbearers will be Brent Twenlow, Floyd Lovelady, Billy Wright, John Paul Wright, Carl Wright, Travis Wright, and J J Hammack.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Smith and Carl Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Wright’s memory may be made to Commercial Bank of Texas, N.A.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
