Graveside services for Frances Gibson Kelley, 87, of Zavalla (formerly of Lufkin), will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 in the Whitehouse Cemetery, with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating.
Mrs. Kelley was born April 23, 1926, the daughter of the late Willie Roscoe and Minnie Gibson. She passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 in a local nursing facility.
Frances was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved to cook for her family, play bingo and fish. Mrs. Kelley was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Murray of Lufkin, Sarah and Cleon Wilson of Lufkin, Barbara Kelley of Houston, and Delois “Tooter” and William C. “Bill” Richardson of Zavalla; sister, Mary Brown of Alvin; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Pineknot” Kelley; 5 brothers; 6 sisters; and son-in-law, James C. Mott.
Mrs. Kelley’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
