Georgia Davis Balch

Mrs. Balch was born December 9, 1939 in Lufkin, TX and passed away October 2, 2014 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John Earle, Sr. and Clara Oleta Davis.

She was a happy person. She loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed decorating and antiques and doing things for others. She never met a stranger. Mrs. Balch was a member of First Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed decorating the altar with flowers. She also was a secretary at Kurth Elementary School for many years. She helped organize the reunions for the Lufkin High School Class of ’58.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Ernest Don Balch; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Sal Sardina and GeorgEllen and Butch Landers; grandchildren, Cody Evans, Josephine Sardina and Salvatore Sardina; sister-in-law, Betty Balch; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, John Earle Davis, Jr.; and sister, Ellen DuPree.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lufkin High School Class of 1958.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
