

Services for June (Carroll) Garton, 58, of Chireno, Texas, were held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Jason Milstead officiating. Interment followed in the Sims/Rocky Hill Cemetery.
June Garton was born April 5, 1955 in Clute, Texas, the daughter of Claude Paul Carroll and the late Mildred Evelyn (Crocker) Carroll. She passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at her residence.
Ms. Garton worked for Lufkin Industries for over 34 years as a class A machine operator. Her work was very important to her, and she was often noted a being a workaholic – she would work 7 days a week if allowed. For entertainment, she really enjoyed playing Bingo, reading books – especially novels. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to the lake and even went fishing one time! She loved caring for her family and preparing good meals for them. Ribeyes were by far her favorite selection, but she was talented a putting together a delicious, tasteful meal.
Survivors include her father, Claude Paul Carroll of Huntington; step-mother, Shannon Thomas of Rocky Hill Community; son, Terry Smith of Chireno; daughter, Brandy Kennidy of Huntington; brother, Johnny Carroll of Homer, sister and brother-in-law, Pat Ricks and Tommy of Diboll, sister and brother-in-law, Ann Jones and John of Conroe, brother and sister-in-law, James Carroll and Minerva McDaniel of Waco, brother and sister-in-law, David Carroll and Stephanie of Lufkin, sister, Peggy Tillar of Chireno, brother and sister-in-law, Terry Paul Carroll and Zoe of Hudson, sister and brother-in-law, Amy Davidson and Tony of Lufkin, sisters and brother-in-law, Marla, Kelly Garner and Charles of Huntington; grandchildren, Austin Reynolds, Kain and Megan Kennidy, Edmond and Evan Williams; great-grandchild, Kain Kennidy, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Paul Carroll.
Pallbearers were Terry Smith, Chris Ricks, David Carroll, Johnny Carroll, Tom Mooney, and Cody Hopson.
Honorary pallbearer was Terry Paul Carroll.
Mrs. Garton’s family would like to say thank you for all of the help and care given by the Affinity Hospice staff, especially Margie Gandy, Sherry Cramer and Joni Johnson.
