June Wilcox Poteet Terry

Mrs. Terry was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to cook for her family and church. She was a member of Bald Hill Baptist Church, where she was president of her Sunday School Class. She also taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include her daughters, Ellen Hawkins, Angie Wilcox and Gay Lynn Wilcox, all of Lufkin; son, Kimball Wilcox of Lufkin; grandchildren, Joseph Blake Wilcox and wife Emily of The Woodlands, Ryan Kimball Wilcox and wife Stephanie of Frisco, and Hunter Hawkins of Lufkin; great-grandson, Joseph Blake Wilcox II; sisters, Minnie Bernice Windsor and husband Cecil of Yoakum and Sarah Sadler and husband David of Pasadena; stepson, Oval C. Terry Jr. and wife Wanda of Lufkin; stepdaughters, Nancy Zuniga of Lufkin and Iva Dell Phillippi of Woodville; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her husbands, George Kimball Wilcox, Sr. in November 1969 and Oval C. Terry, Sr. in January 1986; brother, Joe Dean Poteet; and sister, Cara Beth Daniels.

Memorial services for Mrs. Terry will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Roger Fancher officiating.
