Bill, so sorry to hear of the passing of your precious mother.  Treasure your memories of her forever. My thoughts are with you during this time of loss.

Billy, it was so good to see and talk to you in Brenham a few weeks ago.  As you know, I worked with you and your mother fifty years ago at Sharkey's Market. The years seem to go by so fast. It amazed me how clear your memory was of those days.  My condolences go out to you and your family, and all of you will be in my prayers.

We are so sorry for your loss. Ms. Pearl will certainly be missed at the Shawnee Church Opry. She attended as often as was possible for her and always brought a delicious cake. We pray God will comfort you during this time.

Pearl Marlin was a precious lady and always a friend to those she knew.  It was my privilege to have known her.

We lived across the street from Mrs. Marlin on Mary Ann Street for nearly 20 years.  She taught our 5 children how to work as they raked her yard & helped her keep the property clean.  She was very tough on them but we appreciated that as she helped us carry out our parental responsibilities by being the same way with them at home.  I last spoke to her several weeks ago, telling her that our grown children in their late 30's & early 40's still remember her peanut butter & Mayhaw jelly sandwiches she served them for lunch during their work days.  She was a good neighbor, watching our home when we had to leave town to visit our families or when she saw our kids climbing our trees in the backyard.  Even after we moved away, 20 years ago, I still tried to visit her, the last time being last April.  My family will always remember what she did for a young couple raising a "passle" of kids who needed some of the village to help us raise them.  Both my husband & myself didn't have any of our family close by so Mrs. Marlin watching out for our kids was a blessing.  We've missed her ever since we left Lufkin & our children will forever be grateful to her for giving them their first jobs very early in their lives.  To Mrs. Marlin's family, our sincere condolences from the Jerry Sudduth Family:  Jerry & Mary Ann-Sealy, Michael, Teresa, Stephen, Robert & Deborah.
