Leroy "Buck" Green

Mr. Green was born July 14, 1930 in Nacogdoches County, Texas, the son of the late Myrtle (Oliver) and Roy Green. He passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in a local hospital.

Leroy’s dad was killed before his birth and he was raised by his step-dad, Manning Brookshire. He retired from Louisiana Pacific following 30 years of employment as a welder. He served his country as a Marine in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Massingill Green; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Ann Green; granddaughters, Laurie Cordray and husband Scott, Amanda Green, Jennifer McElyea and husband Jake, and Amity Reeves; grandson, Steven Reeves and wife Stephanie and their two daughters, Stori and Skyla; sisters, Maurine Sarayno and Barbara Smith; brother, Claude Brookshire; and sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Brookshire.

In addition to his parents and step-dad, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda; son, Ronnie; four brothers, J.D., R.T., Jimmy, and Charles Brookshire; four sisters, Arlie Earls, Mildred Goddard, Betty Hurts and Helen Starkweather.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Leroy’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
