

Services for Marjorie Irene Daniels Daily Havard, 89, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ford Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Highway 1818 East, Diboll, Texas.
Mrs. Havard entered into her heavenly home on May 1, 2013 at her home in Lufkin. She was born January 24, 1924 in Jerome, Arkansas to James Peter Daniels and Sleeta Waldrop Daniels. She grew up in Norman, Arkansas.
Mrs. Havard resided in La Marque, Texas for 52 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, as well as a great cook and a seamstress for the public and local dress shops. She was a charter member of Highlands Baptist Church where she was an active member until her move to Lufkin in March 2003, following the death of her husband Eli. Mrs. Havard was always eager to share her love for the Lord with all who crossed her path. She was a dear sweet lady and was loved by all who knew her. She always had a smile on her face.
Mrs. Havard was preceded in death by her husbands, Emery A. Dailey of one year six months and Eli Laird Havard of 59 years, the father of her daughter Sharion and son Danny; her parents; half-sister, Juanita Whitehead; stepson, Gary Lee Havard; and a grandson.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharion and Ron Moore of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Danny L. and Angela Havard of Diboll; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Debra Fae and Charles Cheek of Nacogdoches; sisters, Alice Beaver of Riverside, California and Jimmie Aydelott of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Naomi Havard of Lakebay, Washington; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Albrecht, Jr., Larry Havard, Rayburn Horton, Jason Lawson, Donnie Head and Ricky Rygaard.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Welsh, Michael McDaniel, Lill “Bo” Smith and Wesley Wallace.
Mrs. Havard’s family wishes to extend special thanks to Jessica Horn, Brenda Scarbrough, and Billie Bryce, who were her primary care providers in her final years; Dr. Michael H. Huber; A-Compassionate Home Health; and Heart to Heart Hospice.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Havard’s memory may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 209 Christie Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gipson Funeral Home.
