Medford McWayne Havard

Funeral service for Medford Havard, 90, of Lufkin, will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Gipson Funeral Home chapel with Dr. John Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Tom Havard Cemetery.

Mr. Havard was born February 1, 1933 in Manning, Texas. He passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Parkwood in the Pines.

Medford loved his family very much. On his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Medford proudly served in the Army.

Survivors include wife, Alice Havard of Lufkin; daughter, Donna Caples and husband, Larry, of Lufkin; son, Dale Havard of Lufkin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Morgan Havard and wife, Joyce of Navasota; and numerous other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Johnny Burke and Jeff Havard; and brother, Earl Ray Havard.

Pallbearers will be Richard Caples, Robert Caples, Trent Caples, Gage Caples, Scott Stewart, Van Gay, and Ty Caples.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home.
