Minnie Fay Lee Campbell

Minnie (Lee) Campbell, 88 of Apple Springs, daughter of the late Jennie Jo (Crawford) and William Solomon Lee, was born May 14, 1923 in the Crecy Community in Trinity County, and passed away May 21, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Campbell loved nature and the outdoors. She enjoyed animals and nursing them back to health. She was a hard worker, especially outdoors. She knew a lot about her family's history. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Jean and Forrest Fountain, Memphis, TX; son, Keith T. Campbell, of Houston, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Rickey B. and Julie Campbell, of Houston, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Desiree L. and Tony Garcia, of Lufkin, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jenna, Amy, Kirke, Abbey, Graeme, Matthew and Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Trason, Alexander, Robert, Jr. and Liam.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Campbell in 1981; daughter, Melinda G. Campbell in 1990; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Aparicio, Mike Pillows, Jason Davis, Sherwood Forrest, Lee Due and Justin Forrest.

The family would like to extend thanks to Bethany Home Health nurses and staff.

Services for Mrs. Campbell will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
