Ollie (Sally) "Vardeman" Pigg

Services for Ollie (Sally) "Vardeman" Pigg, 84, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Nacogdoches.

Mrs. Pigg was born February 19, 1928 in Pine Hill (Rusk County), Texas, the daughter of the late Gladys (Hines) and Sol Vardeman. She passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Pigg was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, dancing, reading and cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of Promise Land Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Luther and Juanell Hudgins of Broaddus and Paul and Rachelle Hudgins of Lufkin; son, Mickey Hudgins of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie and Allen Forrest of Huntington and Donna and Mark Talley of Lufkin; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Barbara Vardeman of Lufkin; sister, Mary Nichols of Irving; sister-in-law, Billie Vardeman of Diboll; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pigg was preceded in death by her husbands, Luther Hudgins, Randy Hickman and Aaron Pigg; son, Wayne Hudgins; daughter, Betty Hudgins; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.

Pallbearers will be Roy Jordan, Don Hopson, Carlton Hudgins, David Talley, Terry Hudgins and Dustin Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Starr, Bobby Hudgins, Tim Hudgins and David McNeese.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
