Richard was a simple man who took pride in honest work and a life well lived. He served his country in the United States Air Force and later worked in construction, where his strong work ethic and attention to detail were evident in everything he did. He had a true love for craftsmanship, especially woodworking and renovating his home, finding satisfaction in building things with his own hands.
Above all else, Richard cherished time spent with his family and his loyal dog, Kratos. Those quiet moments at home meant the most to him.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Denise (Stephens) Dickerson; his sons, Levie Beauregard Dickerson and wife Audra, Broderick Lee Dickerson and wife Autumn, and Richard Brandon Dickerson and wife Yuliana.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA or the Humane Society in Richard’s name.
