

Richard Jack McKinney, 88, of Lufkin, was born September 10, 1923 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Vie (Swank) and Jack McKinney. He passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at a local retirement community.
Jack graduated from Lufkin High School in 1942 and entered the military in 1943, completing his service as staff sergeant in 1946. He grauduated from North Texas University in 1950 with a degree in industrial arts. He worked for Shell Oil, British American Oil and Gulf Oil as a scout until his retirement in 1985 from Gulf Oil after 31 years. He then spent 3 more years as a consultant for various companies. He was a member of International Oil Scouts.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Lloydelle Little McKinney; sister, Sarah McKinney Diamond and husband Rollins; brother, Dick McKinney and wife C.J.; children, David and Francine Jordan, Jeannine and Randy Pettis, Byron and Jenny Jordan, and Peri Jordan; sisters-in-law, Loretta McKinney, Linda Little, Llewellyn Frazier and husband Mack; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, "Buddy" McKinney; and brother-in-law, William T. Little, Sr.
Memorial contributions in Jack's memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Texas Chapter, P. O. Box 630636, Nacogdoches, TX 75963-0636.
Graveside services for Jack will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with The Reverend Arthur A. Callaham officiating.

Elizabeth Cleveland Wetherell
Elizabeth Cleveland Wetherell, 92, of Lufkin, was born January 25, 1920 in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of the late Pearl (Martin) and William Cleveland. She passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Wetherell was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Carpenter's Way Baptist Church. God never received a sweeter angel.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George W. and Cristy Wetherell of Lufkin; grandchildren, Melanie Jo of Australia, Jeremy George of Houston, Andrew William of Houston, Jeffery Thomas of Lufkin, Sean Patrick of Lufkin, Mary Elizabeth of Tampa, Florida, and Chris Berry of Austin; great-grandchildren, Whiticker, Marin, Graham, Levi and Brady Wetherell; and a number of other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wetherell was preceded in death by her husband, George Jacob Wetherell; and brother, William Cleveland.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy George, Andrew William, and Jeffery Thomas.
Services for Mrs. Wetherell will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Bro. Mark Wilke. officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park
