Rickey Anderson

Services for Rickey Anderson, 64, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. John Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Rickey was born February 17, 1948 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Lucille (Buckley) and Euthel Anderson. He passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 in a local nursing facility.

Rickey was a gate guard for Texas Foundries. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed gardening, for which he had a green thumb. He served his country in the United States Army as a medic, and served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Anne Anderson of Lindale, Mike Baker of Chicago and Cory and Crystal Baker of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Kaley, Elexis, Shelby, Chloe, Ashton, Laney and Lane; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rayford and Carol Anderson and Lynn and Sharon Anderson, all of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to his parents, Rickey was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Louise Anderson on January 17, 2011.

The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
