Robert Benjamin Brewer

Services for Robert Ben "Goober" Brewer, 64, of Diboll, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Jubilee Baptist Church in Diboll, with Bro. Jerry Young, Bro. Tommy Forse and Bro. Myrton Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Haven Cemetery.

Mr. Brewer was born October 31, 1947 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Ruby (Sparks) and Jack Brewer and stepmother, Charlene (Welch) Brewer. He passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012.

He was a retired electrician from Temple-Inland. He loved life, his kids, and his family. He enjoyed mud hogging, hunting and fishing. Mr. Brewer was a member of Jubilee Baptist Church of Diboll.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jeanette Ward Brewer of Diboll; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Brewer, David Ray and Diane Fenton and B. J. and Karen Brewer; grandchildren, Tristen, Colton, and Ashley Brewer of Etoile; sisters, Shirley Ivey and Betty Dobbs; stepsisters, Janet Kilgore, Machelle and Mary Lou; brothers, Billy Brewer and Jackie Brewer; stepbrothers, Larry and Bimbo Welch and Rex Bankston; a number of nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, John P. Tatum and LaVerne Jousha.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by his brothers, Levy and Johnny Ellison.

Pallbearers will be John Bowman, Donald Pittman, Trance Fenner, Zachery Dean, Caleb Brewer, Dwayne Ward and Chris Ward.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Ward, John Tatum and Tim Lackey.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Jubilee Baptist Church.
