Throughout his life, everyone recognized that Bob was very special. When you met him, he greeted you with a handshake, a big smile on his face and, more than likely, he was going to tell you about Jesus. Bob was a man of great faith and Jesus was number one in his life. His whole being reflected his faith and his joyful praise changed the whole atmosphere of any gathering. As a Christian, he fit in universally in any denomination and with all peoples. As a young child, gathered with several other young children that needed advocates to speak for them, there were many programs that were introduced into the school systems and the beginning of the organization today known as ARC was formed. So because of Bob, a road was paved to help many that will follow behind him. Bob was a part of the Lufkin Workshop and Opportunity Center, as well as other workshops, including the Educare Workshop and he developed a strong work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. Bob loved to go - cruises, Disney World, Houston, the ball games (he was an avid Lufkin Panther and University of Texas fan). As a young boy, he watched "Gunsmoke" and wanted to be a cowboy when he grew up. Later this changed to a desire to become a policeman and he was delighted when he was given a policeman's hat. Throughout his life he touched so many lives and shared the love of Jesus with so many, that today as he has come face to face with his Jesus, he is no doubt hearing, "Well done, my faithful son".
The family would like to express a special thank you to the Burke Center, Castle Pines Retirement Home, Heart-to-Heart Hospice, and all of the many healthcare professionals and caregivers that gave such tender loving care to Bob.
