Roy was born and raised in Apple Springs, Texas. and was the beloved son of the late A.J. Tullos and Lillie Mae (Rogers) Tullos. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Laverne “Vernie” Tullos, whom he loved deeply and missed every day. Now, after years apart, they are together again. Roy was also preceded in death by his son William Billy Moore and sisters Carolyn Due, Kathleen Elliot and Linda Tullos.
He is survived by his devoted sister Lois Odom and his loving daughter Serena Tullos, with whom he spent his final year in her home.
A proud retiree of Lufkin Industries, Roy lived a full and humble life marked by hard work, faith, and simple joys. He loved going to church, caring for his horses, and—he really loved to dance. Those who knew him will remember his gentle heart, steady presence, and the way his eyes lit up whenever the music started.
Roy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 13, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 2945 FM 357, Apple Springs, TX 75926 (Nogalus Prairie), followed immediately by a Graveside Service at 4:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery, officiated by James Whittlesey.
