

Services for Sally Sue Atkinson, 67, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Max Brand officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Atkinson was born June 22, 1945 in Willis, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Martha Estelle (Brown) and James Earl Massey. She passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in a local hospice facility.
She married at a young age and had 4 girls by the age of 21. She worked and raised her girls by herself. She married Bobby Atkinson, Sr. on September 22, 1977. She moved to Childress and Wichita Falls and then back to Lufkin. She has lived in Lufkin for 21 years. Mrs. Atkinson loved her family, grandchildren, and Mr. Bobby. She loved taking care of people and tried to take care of everyone. She enjoyed making candy and cookies, and watching birds and squirrels.
Survivors include her husband Bobby C. Atkinson, Sr. of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Gary Evans of Wells, Linda and Mike Kellogg of Navasota and Carolyn and Dee Sehorn of Amarillo; daughters, Brenda Reppond of Lufkin, Barbara Jackson of Wells, and Ann Sehorn and the late Donny of Childress; son, Bobby C. Atkinson, Jr. of Amarillo; brothers, Joe Massey of Virginia, Edward Massey of Arkansas, and L. G. Vic Massey of Chandler; sister, Lynn Rogers of Willis; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkinson was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Jackson; brother, Raymond Massey; and sisters, Sherry Massey and Annette Massey.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kellogg, Will Kellogg, Gary Evans, Chris Jackson, Jason Jackson and Joe Ray Vessell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
