Services for Sarah Elizabeth “Libby” Wilson, 88, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ray Pinner officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Libby was born April 24, 1925 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Sarah Effie (Allen) and William Deaton Wilson. She passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 in a local hospital.
Libby was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed her cats, and loved to draw and doodle. She was a member of Allentown United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Shelby Jean Liles, Shirley Diann Smith, Robert Allen, James Wilson, Freddie Wilson, Joe Wilson and Margaret Parrish; and a number of other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her brother, Grady Wilson; and sister, Ivalene Allen.
Pallbearers will be Robert Allen, James Wilson, Freddie Wilson, Norris Bailey, Joe Wilson, and Kenneth Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
