Sofia Rosales

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for Sofia (Fernandez) Rosales, with Reverend Victor A. Hamon, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friends and loved ones from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m..

Mrs. Rosales, 64, of Lufkin was born April 30, 1946 in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico, the daughter of the late Celia (Reyes) and Aurelio Fernandez. She passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Rosales was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was employed for 25 years at Pilgrim's Pride and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She loved flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel Rosales; son, Ramon Rosales; son, Pablo Rosales and wife, Maricela Rosales; daughter, Celia Dominguez and husband, Eduardo Dominguez; son, Francisco Rosales and wife, Olivia Rosales; son, Armando Rosales; son, Manuel Rosales; daughter, Yolanda Iniguez and husband, David Iniguez; son, Salomon Rosales and wife, Elaine Villela Rosales; 17 grandchildren, Irving, Roberto, Dario, Jacqueline, Pablo, Jr., Maria, Eduardo, Leah, Mariela, Angelica, Christina, Devon, Gabriel, Antonio, Roxanne, Zachary, Adrian; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Miguel Fernandez and wife, Manuela; sister, Maria Auxilio and husband, Leon.

Mrs. Rosales is preceded in death by her parents; and two grandchildren, Camila Rosales and Miguel Rosales.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roberto Rosales, Pablo Rosales, Jr., Irving Rosales, Marcos, Ramon Rosales and Pablo Rosales.
