Sondra Camille (nee McEntire) DeFalco was born on the 5th of September 1938 in Salem, Marion County, Illinois as the first child of R.B and Phyllis McEntire. She grew up in Illinois, New Mexico, and various parts of Texas. She graduated from Lufkin High School in 1956 and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology with a minor in English from Stephen F. Austin State College in 1960.
Camille had careers as a social worker and teacher getting to see so much of the world from her trip to the Mexico City Olympics in 1964, to living in London, England, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, and Maracaibo, Venezuela along with stints living in Michigan, Iowa, Arizona, Alabama, New Jersey, and all corners of Texas. Along with teaching secondary education, she was a case worker for Texas CPS, Texas MHMR, and a Juvenile Probation Officer in Harris County. She worked for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Houston and served on their board of directors and was later executive director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Deep East Texas in Nacogdoches. She was the long-time court administrator for the 313 District Court in Houston and was the first female faculty in the state at the Texas Center for the Judiciary. She was also director of the Woman’s and Children’s Shelter of Tom Green County in San Angelo. She was a member of the Pine Burr Sorority while attending SFA and senior member of the PEO Sisterhood philanthropic organization promoting woman’s education. She enjoyed her grandchildren and retirement in the Conroe, Texas area, and most recently was resident at an assisted living and skilled nursing facility in Pearland, Texas.
Camille was preceded in death by her parents R.B and Phyllis McEntire, her husband James “Jim” De Falco, and nephew Allen McEntire.
She is survived by her beloved family; son, Maj. Tony De Falco and Daughter-in-law Dr. Annarita Nicosia; grandchildren, Grace and Anthony; her brothers and sisters-in-law, R. B. "Butch" and Jayne McEntire, III and James and Connie McEntire; nephews, Drs. John and Ruth McEntire, Aaron McEntire, and Robert B. McEntire; grandnephew, Jay McEntire; and grandniece, Emily McEntire.
Graveside services for Camille will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022 in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, Lufkin, Texas.
