Edna Theresa Wilson was born in Kinder, Louisiana, on October 20, 1934. She was the youngest of five daughters and one son born to Thomas and Clara Hamm. In her youth, she was affectionately known as “one of those Hamm girls,” a phrase spoken with admiration for their beauty and the lifelong sense of humor they shared, especially whenever they were together.
Theresa married the love of her life, Charles Edwin Wilson, on October 20, 1952. Together they built a life rooted in love and family, and she became a devoted and caring mother to four children: Carol Lynn Wilson, Jerry Edwin Wilson, Laurie Ann Andrews, and Charles Alan Wilson. Her family was always at the center of her heart, and she found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved.
Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband and her daughter, Carol.
She is survived by seven grandchildren, Jessica Verver, Christopher Willis, Jennifer Matlock, Justin Matlock, Steven Matlock, Clara Elizabeth Wilson, and Jeffrey Wilson, along with many much-loved great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride and happiness.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that Theresa was a believer in Christ Jesus, saved by His blood, and is now resting peacefully in His arms.
Visitation will be held at Gipson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location, starting at 3:00 pm. Edna will be laid to rest at Fielders Cemetery.
